The Sun without the Throne – Leo Eclipse 2026
The solar eclipse will occur on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, and will be visible as a partial solar eclipse from Berlin, Germany.
The eclipse will begin at approximately 19:15 CEST, reach its maximum at 20:08 CEST, and end at around 20:38 CEST.
The Eclipse surrounded by a powerful Leo planetary cluster (honestly, it speaks of an overwhelming amount of Leo energy), amplifying themes of visibility, identity, recognition, rulership, power, personal expression, creativity, ego and how personal influence has been used.It is a South Nodal Eclipse, although the eclipse itself is outside the orb of conjunction with the South Node.
Regulus — The Royal Star, Qalb al-Asad (“Heart of the Lion”) & Archangel Raphael
The South Node, however, is at 29°—an anaretic, critical, and mastery degree—and is conjunct Regulus, the ancient Persian Royal Star, one of the Four Royal Stars of Persia, traditionally associated with the four guardians or Watchers of the heavens.
The Royal Stars represent four great pillars of cosmic order, each carrying a distinct principle of power, initiation, and guardianship.
Regulus, the Royal Star of the North, is associated with kingship, sovereignty, leadership, honour, courage, and the responsible use of power.
Regulus itself, known in Arabic as Qalb al-Asad, “the Heart of the Lion”- has long carried the symbolism of the throne, authority, people of power, personal sovereignty, and the radiance of the individual will.
In some traditions, Regulus is associated with Archangel Raphael, symbolizing divine healing. Archangel Raphael embodies divine healing and restoration, the purification of power- of consciousness and the transformation of power into a force of service, wholeness, and higher purpose.
Regulus is now positioned at 0° Virgo. After thousands of years, the fixed star entered Virgo in 2011/12. Symbolically, this marks a profound shift in the expression of rulership and power: what was once associated with the sovereignty, grandeur, and authority of Leo is now called toward Virgoan qualities of service, humility, purification, discernment, responsibility, and refinement.
There are also several significant, constructive, flowing, supportive, yet deeply transformational configurations at work- most notably, the Grand Trine and the Mystic Rectangle with two oppositions. Both configurations speak to movement, integration, support, and meaningful shifts. They can correspond with life-changing information, consequential conversations, significant new connections, the liberation of creative energy, and the emergence of perspectives that alter the trajectory of our lives.With Mercury conjunct Jupiter in Leo and opposing Pluto, one of the central themes becomes the transformation of the narrative through which we understand ourselves. Mercury-Jupiter in Leo expands the mind and amplifies the impulse to articulate, understand, and give meaning to our experience. In opposition to Pluto, however, this expansion encounters the necessity for profound psychological honesty. Pluto exposes what lies beneath the conscious narrative: the inherited stories, compulsions, projections, and unconscious identifications through which we have come to define ourselves.This is not simply about changing our thoughts. It is about transforming the story we tell ourselves about who we are-and, consequently, transforming the way we understand power, our purpose, and the reality we are capable of creating.
And Venus in Libra opposite Neptune in Aries can bring some projections into relationships. For artists, though, this can be a great aspect for creativity, inspiration and new meaningful collaborations.

Sabian Symbol for the Eclipse is: “Intoxicated Chickens Dizzily Flap Their Wings Trying to Fly” — 21° Leo
This symbol speaks of an experience in which there is first excitement, then an attempt, followed by a fall and confusion, and only afterward genuine understanding.
The symbol is not necessarily negative, but it may suggest that we should not skip stages, as it speaks of experimenting with something that goes beyond our previous boundaries.
When we have a Solar Eclipse at this degree, it can be very easy NOT to see/understand what is obvious, or even to skip the degree itself . (That is exactly what happened to me at first).
The eclipse may therefore open a period in which we become deeply aware of our attempts to reach something too soon — whether that is spiritual understanding, personal development, creative expression, or a sense of our own power. We may rush ahead “frantically flap our wings,” and realize that we are not actually flying yet, because more checking/understanding or maturity is still needed.
But that very attempt is part of the learning.
